@tillybridges there's so much I could say about gendered clothing that go beyond identity and into quality, fit, and function, which muddies my personal waters. I like to draw myself in outfits I would never suffer through in real life. I've lost track of a lot of clothes that I bought from the "men's" vs "women's" section. Most of them are black anyway.

All that being said, when I throw on my vintage men's pleated slacks and a grandpa-esque Hawaiian shirt on for casual Fridays, I don't care that my coworkers probably think I look ridiculous. I feel great, even if I would probably not want to go with that look every day. It just feels right sometimes. Call it gender euphoria, call it a rare instance of me getting outside my head and dipping my toes in some semblance of outward self-expression, cause I can't tell.

@vkc it's not your fault. Its disheartening that even on fedi, speaking out is shamed and they treat band-aids as a solution. But on the other hand, I feel seen and not-crazy when others, especially with a platform are fed up and say "its time we all have this conversion."

Accepting and living under the status quo is antithetical to the purpose of the Fediverse.
