Today is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.Today is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.
It’s important to remember that actively working towards a welcoming safe environment for everyone in science isn’t just the decent thing to do (I’d argue it’s the bare minimum), it also means we do better science!
Take, for example, this study showing underrepresented groups innovate more than their peers (but their work is not taken up by the wider community):

Muuten yritän käyttää koko nimeä eli University of Helsinki.

It’s no better than a paywall.
I’d like to support journalism that doesn’t depend on me accepting personalised advertising or paying several euros a month just to read one article, once. And since I mostly boost what I can (and do) read myself, that means I probably won’t boost your post, either.
If you’re wondering what “bigger” media outlets I *do* support, for the UK I recommend https://thenerve.news/. For Finland I’d like to recommend Long Play but my understanding is that they do have stuff behind a paywall.
