In Spanish, today is 11 de febrero de 2026, so, our order in conversation is 11-2-2026, and that’s why we use that. Cultures from the east just adopted standards because their calendars are way different (lunar, lunisolar, with eras, etc). I like to make fun of it, because the internet ‍️

Sometimes you just want a no-friction service that won’t add extra load on your employees. But that’s me speculating. There could be a way different but completely justified reason. These are smart people, and I trust they know what they’re doing.

But to put it simple, and citing The Matrix, it’s a red pill, blue pill situation: red pill, you jump on the Fediverse, and take part in a new concept of social media. No corporations, no algorithm, no tracking, no centralized servers. Blue pill, you stay in corporate controlled land, with the algorithm and ad tracking cookies. You’ll keep yelling at bots and bigots. So, their choice.
