    @rusty__shackleford @Gaelan sure they could answer the second of your questions right away. It read to me like you were saying they should answer all three right away, which I think isn't realistic. If that's not what you were getting at, fair enough - I just misread you.

    @rusty__shackleford @Gaelan yeah, all but the "do we have a policy against AI writing?" are questions that take time to investigate. In terms of the process failure, potentially quite a bit of time because you have to schedule interviews with many people. I'm curious how it happened too but i don't want people hauled in on a long weekend over it.

    @dmitry @ricardoharvin If they only use one tactic to undermine the whole election, then people can point to it and say "see, if they hadn't done *that* then the election would have gone differently".

    If they try ten different things, where no individual one on its own is sufficient to change the outcome, but any six would be - then any time discussion focuses on one tactic, they can deflect by saying "oh come now, any effect from that was too small to change the outcome anyway, get over it".

  • I’m so bothered by all of the people who are supposedly on the ‘good’ side who use these things against their political opponents:

    @colorblindcowboy @skinnylatte @albnelson totally - as visual impairment is not something to mock someone over and also a good reason someone shouldn't be driving, so dementia is not something to mock someone over and also a good reason someone shouldn't be governing a country.

    I mean, Trump shouldn't have been governing a country all along but that's because he's a terrible person.

    @dyckron there is no contradiction here, no "instead". When they say "abundance" they mean they, the CEOs, will get richer.

    @kgw @kkarhan it took 40+ years of dead-letter gun laws for the US to become the gunned up madhouse it is, and Trump will have to do whatever he does this year because he's not likely to live to see 2027.

    @TechConnectify The first 3/4 or whatever was mostly stuff I kind of knew - not the specific figures and examples you give - exactly how much more energy would be available just from converting fields growing corn for ethanol fuel into solar fields, for example.

    And then the second part. Fantastic. Blistering. Thank you and from Canada I wish you and all Americans of good conscience success and safety.

    @josephsimons she knows as well as anyone no pipeline will be built via this or any other MOU, because global oil consumption is a year or two away from plateau and gradual decline - the pipelines that already exist are enough to supply world oil markets forever.

    So if she can get Carney to break off the deal first she can blame him for the economically inevitable fact that no pipeline will be built.

    @wdlindsy
    IMO "The wreckage to the Christian faith is incalculable" is wrong, and "This moment, and what it reveals about American Christianity, will be studied for a long time to come." is correct.

    Specifically - the wreckage was always there. MAGA has not turned evangelical Christianity into a religion of hate, but made it clearer from the outside that it had been one all along.
