@stefano It has some issues with iOS accessibility VoiceOver function. Some unlabeled buttons, some sequential order issues, let me know if I can get in touch for further details. For example, one, is that you labeled "GLOBE" the button to choose message's privacy: public, unlisted, followers, etc... remember, button labels must match button's functionality

After quite some time, I’m finally ready to share this. -
This isn’t new news as such, but people keep being surprised by it, so it’s worth repeating.@kerfuffle @FediThing @tchambers @ben @buttondown @writefreely yes I know - ButtonDown is in the US. And centralized. That's why I'm going to try alternatives. I can't use ghost (tried to self-host it with no accessibility result) and now I'm self-hosting writefreely, while I'll try email subscriptions

This isn’t new news as such, but people keep being surprised by it, so it’s worth repeating.@FediThing @tchambers @ben Ghost has still serious #accessibility issues. So, I have another alternative @buttondown which is not decentralized. But currently I'm even trying the email subscription of @writefreely - which can be self-hosted. Then, depends on how "sophisticated" needs users have.

I’ve been asked on TV hits and interviews lately to explain why decentralized social media is better, especially re: Mastodon.@taylorlorenz @tchambers You're not forced to use a specific website or a specific software to look at it, and then use it. Explaining what's federation and what's decentralization is very complex, especially to someone who uses internet passively - without knowing how it really works.
I always say that Fediverse is very difficult to be communicated, rather than used. You can't avoid explaining what "decentralization" really means. Despite blackout and similar stuff are more frequent, they don't see it as an immediate concern.
I always say that communicating Fediverse is like talking about U=U (Undetectable Untransmittable) referred to HIV prevention.
It's a very important concept for everyone's sex life. As it means that if you live with HIV and are in constant effective treatment, even without condom you can NEVER transmit virus to anyone. This destroys all 40 years old stigma we have, theoretically.
But you can't really explain this concept of UNDETECTABLE without explaining (at least the basis) of what VIRAL LOAD is. A concept that you can't give for granted. -
Talking about accessibility, Trunk is the worst fediverse client.Talking about accessibility, Trunk is the worst fediverse client. Blind users avoid it like death - unless you want to fill their resources whatever they are, of feedbacks.
Just to be precise: my purpose is not to humiliate anyone, but to remind the world, we exist. If we stay sitting by ourselves and complain in our comfort zone only, we obtain nothing.

Mastodon has an automatic language detector.@FediTips To set posts in correct language, is also meaningful for users relying on voice synthesizers to read (including blind people) as most screen readers now support language change

Whenever some politician or party apologist whines about having to stay on twitter because some of our potential voters are on twitter, remind them that probably even more of their potential voters are on pornhub but they are not active there.@etchedpixels @FediThing We could even increase the list: pornhub, grindr, Romeo4Romeo or Adam4Adam whatever name homo and hetero sexual dating/sex apps have. Think of this: once I heard about a far-right event. It was Trump's event in Milwaukee before elections, or Charlie Kirk death memorial, in both case the area was full of faceless Grindr profiles. Nothing against attending those specific services; the problem is, most people who obstacle homosexuals' rights, are closeted frustrated homosexuals searching faceless pump and dump.

Just a friendly reminder to clean your keyboard!!@dbtechyt People assume that things you use every day, will never get dirty. They think that washing your hands is sufficient to clean. Not talking about "exceptional" situations, I'm talking about everyday life now. No need to touch the keys with hands dirty of chocolate. All sticky. But even sneezing on a keyboard could generate dirt there. In this, covid taught nothing.

Just a friendly reminder to clean your keyboard!!@dbtechyt @selfhosting I have two objects to clean - keyboard and Braille display. Can I say, if a Braille display could talk...
As a woman I don't think I'm saying too much, referring to every blind man whose porn content reading is limited (too many undescribed images, too many videos with music and less sounds); in this case they turn on their imagination by looking for something else. And they go in self-satisfaction mode even just listening to another person's voice talking gentle to them, even about weather!
I'm talking about men because I have experienced some awful harassment by those sample blind folks; but even women search for pleasure while on the pc/smartphone. It's not a sin. But it's a sin to leave hardware input devices dirty!
I use a microfiber cloth with an alcoholic solution, don't know if english word is isopropan or isopropilic alcohol, that one used with paper. Because if dust or liquids enter inside Braille cells, you ruin a device which costs at least 2000 euro, the smallest. With 100 euro cost for each cell repaired. -
I got a t-shirt from @mediaformat ♥️@pfefferle @mediaformat I have a wapuu on a wooden round base for a mug - a gift from WordCamp Pisa 2025. Now I wonder if there's a plush wapuu somewhere. I have seen one on an American site some months ago; but my purpose would be to buy it and donate to WordPress simultaneously, but I would have given more money to postal services, the double of wapuu's price!

WordPress Federation: Recap of 2025@activitypub.blog Thinking of 2026 now; I have a particular feedback, the possibility to interact from Mastodon directly, as the plugin "enable mastodon apps" from Alex Kirk doesn't work with all clients.
