Yet the conservative board overseeing the station and Alabama's public TV supported Congress killing the CPB, which funded local stations. Too much of a liberal bias, they claim, notwithstanding their demand for free speech — as long as it doesn't challenge conservative orthodoxy. Let them fight over control of broadcast radio and TV, supposedly the public's airwaves. Anyone with internet access can stream NPR.
