It seems the time has come, huh.@nina_kali_nina I have this ongoing fantasy that one day I'll start like "Old Crone Tech" and consult for companies that have software or hardware from ye olden times and help them move it.
Decompiling old programs, extending dosbox/etc to deal with weird peripherals, write modern drivers for old peripherals, things like that.
You'd think that there's a market for that kind of thing? But how would you even start...

It seems the time has come, huh.@nina_kali_nina too bad there's basically no market for knowing how to make windows 2.0 drivers...
I know, I've looked!

If you somehow still considered uploading your face/ID to Discord, here's one more reason not to: Peter Thiel seems to be the lead investor in the service that implements the age check.@nina_kali_nina oh good...

Not to brag, but if anthropic had paid me $20,000 and given me a month I'd also have been able to write them a very shitty C compiler. Not to brag, but if anthropic had paid me $20,000 and given me a month I'd also have been able to write them a very shitty C compiler.

A USB connector manufacturer is making a really #righttorepair friendly USB-C connector that can be replaced without soldering.@cd0 oh wow, the price isn't even that bad. Very neat find!

The thing about C needing newlines at the end of files keeps coming up.@david_chisnall I can't really vouch for this information, but I can tell you that if this was due to either lex of yac it's probably lex.
If lex can't properly terminate the token stream then in the parser you'd have to write LF or EOF in the grammar a bazillion times I think.
Easier to just tell people to add a newline.
This is conjecture of course but I'm reasonably confident in this based on using flex and bison.
