With all the tiktok drama I have been telling people Mastodon is still here and kicking!!I think the product is just fine. Wonderful, in fact. I'm glad that Taylor Lorenz and Corey Doctorow and George Takai and Lisa Melton etc, etc are the local celebrities on this site. I also think scarcity and "being cool" (in other words, not trying) are the ultimate signifier of where folks should want to be.
It ain't broken.

The real MLK was a radical.The fundamental error the American Center Left (Democrats) made in the years of the civil rights movement and beyond was just this. They continued to expand personal rights while ignoring the need for economic reform. They ignored anti-trust, allowed the minimum wage to stall, and generally supported US corporate consolidation and the concentration of wealth. They were better than the alternative but abandoned their FDR roots. It's time for a synthesis, a new democratic party.#uspol
