@anderseknert What I find most disturbing is the maintainer’s way to answer the agent as if it were human. The sycophantic behaviour has switched sides.

I think the thing that makes me saddest about this whole “use an LLM to generate code” thing is that many of my heroes are no longer my heroes.@dtemme @samir When I speak to people after my talks, quite a few say „you’re absolutely right, we shouldn’t use this tech“. And then they talk about how they have been using and are going to be using this exact technology „reasonably“. Their values are so separated from their actions that they don’t even realise what just happened.

I've asked Claude to implement a Rust port of JS library given source code in another directory: there's already one such implementation in OSS, mine.@robertobottoni @holtwick @horusiath If you think that negative consequences will dominate then just stop using it. Every use is a promotion of the technology and will thus aggravate the negative consequences even more.

Wir haben hier ja einige #solarpunk s.@AwetTesfaiesus @atarifrosch Ein Großteil neuer Therapien startet an Universitäten und wird dann von Firmen kommerzialisiert - mal als Ausgründung, mal durch (zu) billige Lizenzierung. Pharmafirmen kümmern sich prinzipiell nur um verbreitete Krankheiten mit Gewinnerwartung; manchmal werden auch heilende Therapien zu Gunsten symptomunterdrückender Therapien gestoppt. Forschung an „orphan diseases“ (seltene Krankheiten) wird ausschließlich öffentlich finanziert.
