Humanoid robots?
Are you thinking of the models that were trialed (and largely abandoned) in Japan?

I will say again - Humanoid robots are a stupid waste of time, with only one realistic use case; sex workers for gullible incelsI mean, I get that they can be a usable testing platform, but even then, that ends up being having to troubleshoot all the things that go wrong with the platform that have nothing to do with the thing you are testing. So far, despite pouring in $BILLIONS and diverting person-centuries of skills and brainpower into them, we still have no clear use case other than sex workers

I wonder if I should bring my love of longhand writing on paper to its logical conclusion and write my thesis on paper.@elilla
May I suggest the opposite?Use a computer for all the tedious outlining, editing, citations, etc. and once you are all done, write the final product longhand with the nicest fountain pen you have and the ink you most adore.

Every time I go through the job application process, I am freshly reminded how dumb it is and how HR cocoons itself from ever knowing how bad their processes are.@paninid
In other news, I am interviewing for a role today in which they sent me several documents on how to prepare for an interviewing technique that was developed in the 70's and was outdated by the 90's.So here we are, HR is using a technique that filters out the best and worst candidates alike, and boosts bullshitters.

Right.
Which is one of the problems with hiring in general - you ask an HR person to recruit a specialist in a field they know nothing about, to select for skills they don't understand, and to use tools they don't knowThe outcome is this kind of thing where the hiring manager cannot fathom why HR keep sending poor matches or nobody at all

Like CVS is looking for a Knowledge Management person
Their website doesn't accept KM certifications as a choice, doesn't accept a MASTERS degree in KM, and doesn't accept any universities not on their list. You can't reach out to tell HR how dumb that is, so they are going to be mystified and say "we don't get any good applicants"
