@0xabad1dea I think the most mind-blowing part (to me), is that because of the way things are organized (visually) and because you explain the interpretation and ambiguity of the so many characters, I then look at where they appear in the original text, and start to recognize others I've seen before. I'm like "wait I've seen this before ! This is 仁 ! I know what that means ! Oh and 乎 seems to always be at the end of a question, must be some interrogative form.

Having both traditional and simplified writings makes it a bit harder, but human pattern recognition is craaaazy.

@0xabad1dea I did not expect to spend my Sunday morning (for large values of "morning") reading Chinese philosophy translated by an old IRC era friend I hadn't spoken to for something like, idk, over 15 years ? (Also, erm, hi I guess πŸ‘‹ 🫣). Fedi is a pretty cozy place like that. Thank you so much for this, I really love it. It's very easy to follow, quite interesting, and overall a very enjoyable read. I love how it feels like a multi-millenial continuity between you, Kong Fuzi, and the long line of commentators and translators in between.

Anyway, I highly recommend folks giving it a try if curious about the topic. I'll dig back into it after breakfast.
