Never noticed until now, but apparently office chairs with gas lifts are still a thing in the 24th century. -

I didn't have to hard-reset a linux system for ages, but thanks to systemd (and especially the systemd-timedated that got roped in unwantedly after a bookworm->trixie update) I just had to do that.I didn't have to hard-reset a linux system for ages, but thanks to systemd (and especially the systemd-timedated that got roped in unwantedly after a bookworm->trixie update) I just had to do that. Luckily on a machine that's not in production use.
Oh the centuries worth of productive life time that systemd robbed from its victims on a global scale... Thomas Midgley Jr. would be proud. Gotta love the urge to introduce new complexity in places of high impact. -
I never applied for an amateur radio license because I didn't like the idea of appearing on an official list of "skilled" people.@harkank Learning is amazing. You can accrue skills while nobody watches and without the requirement of a diploma.

Until now that was a theoretical fear. One I wasn't even sure if it was warranted or just me being overly cautious.
In Belarus things escalated quickly. Radio amateurs - usually recognized as men of goodwill - have been declared enemies of the state and publicly shamed and indicted for high treason.
