@sashag It would be a shame as the GOP would use it to end Right to Repair your own home. Not like the evil monsters haven't criminalized bottles of drinking water already. Did you know they can arrest you for a 'drug paraphernalia' or 'aiding illegal immigrants' in some of the redhole states for having and/or distributing WATER.

What'd be REALLY great if people would be proactive rather than reactive and paid attention before things got this bad.

@evan The answer is go back to LiveJournal and Alice gets to decide. If her post is fully public, anyone can comment on it. If it's private and Bob is in a group of people she shared it with, only Bob and the people in that group can see the post and comment. Now if Bob wants to make a copy of her post and share it privately this his group of friends, that's his business but then he's probably not a very good friend.

@tasket @martinvermeer @dantheclamman I don't at all doubt that lead, particularly tetraethyl lead isn't toxic and a contaminant on a massive scale (not to mention used for the stupidest pure greed reasons). Even the Romans knew that lead was bad news. Correlation across many industrialized nations can well constitute a smoking gun but correlation is not always causation. Just urging caution with blanket statements.

@martinvermeer @dantheclamman Truthfully, this would be very hard data to draw any conclusions from. There are just too many other factors. For instance, the shift from mostly human manufacturing to mostly robotic manufacturing (which began happening at increasing scale post WWII) the stagnation of wages are going to drive crime. Also the CIA selling arms to Iran to buy drugs from Noriega to dump on US streets to increase crime as a way to attack minorities. Too many factors. Hard to isolate.

@Lazarou Mentioned this before but bears repeating: Republicans are the pedo party. The same narcissm that makes them believe that only THEY know what is correct for the lives of total strangers and only their comforts matter is the same mentality of a child molester. Their wants are more important than the child's welfare. They can do whatever they want and justify it to themselves. The entire party is inherently sociopathic and diseased.
