Interesting things going on, at least in the research group that I am working at.
Several members have expressed their dissatisfaction with recent #Microsoft and #Office365 developments. Apparently, every file on University of Helsinki OneDrive will have to be provided with descriptive metadata to improve Copilot365 usefulness, essentially meaning our research data etc will be gobbled up by AI.
As a result, some colleagues are not only switching to #Linux but looking at #Nextcloud. Hooray!
Finland's critical digital infrastructure and services are largely provided and controlled by tech giants across the Atlantic. To ensure sovereignty, democracy and national security, starting a public discussion on transferring the infrastructure and services to Finnish or European service providers is needed.

Suomen kriittinen digitaalinen infrastruktuuri ja digitaaliset palvelut ovat pitkälti Atlantin takaisten teknologiajättien hallussa. Itsemääräämisoikeuden, demokratian ja turvallisuuden takaamiseksi olisi hyvä aloittaa keskustelu digitaalisten palvelujen siirtäminen suomalaisen tai eurooppalaisen teknologian varaan.
