The feds shot out a local residents window this evening with these munitions that they also shot at people. Iโm not sure that Iโve seen these before, does anybody recognize? (Not my photos)
One kind of looks like a 40mm foam round but that wood looking stuff??

@alissaazar that's a gas canister gun. It won't kill you, but the irritant is capsaicin based. I grow extreme chilly peppers. And we're talking reapers. The secret is to drink milk, and keep a carton handy to wash out the eyes. Lactose breaks down capsaicin from pepper spray and gas canisters. You can't wear face coverings at protests UNLESS it for medical reasons, and an N95 mask minimizes capsaicin inhalation. Also don't touch your genitals. It hurts like a motherfucker. Ask me how I know.

@alissaazar a quick note from south africa. in the 80s the cops started dropping D cell batteries down the barrels of their rubber bullet guns. and firing that into the crowds

You shouldn't just put milk in your eyes for no damned reason because of bacteria, but at a protest where we're talking substances with several million SHU of capsaicin it's better than nothing. I have to wear gloves to handle my reapers, and I've gotten it in my eyes, and the milk does help alleviate that.

Iโm so stuck on the amount of children teargassed. I cannot even imagine how traumatizing this must be.
There were so many children at the park earlier. There were thousands and thousands of people out. I didnโt see any children near the gate where I was standing but that didnโt even matter. The teargas reached the park, blocks away. More and more people are telling me their gas hardly worked.

I've read advice over and over from medical professionals that specifically say NOT to use milk.@TheGreatLlama @alissaazar doctors are not pepper growers now are they? Do you want to be temporarily blinded at a protest by listening to doctor or do you want keep fighting and listen to a pepper grower who is telling you to put the damned milk in your eyes? There ya go. Aint gonna argue with stupidity.

I've specifically heard this from doctors who provide aid at protests. I've also known plenty of doctors who are gardeners.Do what you like for your own part, I just felt it was better to counteract unsafe health advice.
