Out of control, off-leash dogs are my cycling nemesis, having been knocked off my bike once and bitten multiple times, once rather badly. I've found that verbally confronting the owners ALWAYS ends badly. They don't care and rules don't apply to them.
One the other hand, the majority of dog owners with their dogs off leash on our city trails (despite our local ordinance) have instant verbal control and the dog at heel on command.@bikemonterey @ascentale @bikenite @MartyCormack It's like riding on a bike in car traffic. It only needs one car driver to kill me.

@ascentale @bikenite A8. It’s been a rough week cycling here, navigating through lingering ice and also seeing the damage from the ice storm. One of the things that makes Nashville special is our tree canopy and it’s just really sad to see so many damaged trees. #BikeNite

@ascentale @bikenite A8: What I didn't see this week (well, yesterday) was the road due to freezing rain collecting on my glasses. I had to stop three times over 15 miles to thaw and wipe my glasses. Anyone know if Cat Crap would have helped with this? #BikeNite
@josh @ascentale @bikenite usually the beak of my cap keeps of most of the rain. My recent helmet has a beak-like visor, I feel drops on my chin, that I do not see on my glasses. Maybe that help.
