Asking as it likely has implications for inclusion in Mastodonās upcoming recommended servers initiative (CC @haubles) as Iām assuming a server that allows the antisemitic conflation of Zionism with all Jews and the harassment and libel of people who oppose genocide with bot-like behaviour that includes replying to threads and then blocking the original author would not be allowed.
Remember that legal does not mean moral or ethical. Slavery was legal in the US. The Holocaust was legal in Nazi Germany.

@aral I hope I'm wrong, but given the overeager laws (or interpretations thereof) in Germany, I wonder if Fediverse instances banning trolls or spammers who claim to be Jews run the risk of being labelled "antisemitic"?

You claim the laws are 'anything but alike,' yet Germanyās current role as a major arms supplier to a genocide shows that in practice, the state's (and your, for that matter) legal and ethical bar for protecting humanity hasn't shifted as much as you'd like to believe.
