Do you ever get turned on by your own body/presentation?

Now I'm curious how different the answers would be if I'd phrased the question as "If you could be someone else for a day, and had the opportunity to, would you fuck yourself?"
@alice β¦Well, if I were someone else I wouldn't be *me*, would I? It feels a bit like a cop-out answer, but I really can't say what decisions I'd make if I suddenly had a whole different brain chemistry to deal with.
(There's not nearly enough fiction that addresses that sort of thing. I guess neurotypical people don't really think much about how *physical* their brains are? But insofar as our minds are intangible, that "software" is still affected by the "hardware" it runs onβ¦)

@alice@lgbtqia.space I've had the fantasy of being able to like magically clone myself and be able to experience both bodies at once and maybe having some sexual fun. Though the fantasy is more about how it would feel rather than an attraction to my own body.

@alice Hell, no! Iβm deeply surprised anyone ever has. Iβm ugly, (now) tubby, and a lot of work either in a relationship or merely to interest in a hook-up. Who the fuck wants meβ½

@alice That's going to be a yes again.

@alice I'd be more likely to as me probably

@alice No I would not. Instead, I'd step into my blue phone booth, and enjoy the bigger inside, by myself, and explore the universe. I'd be Roctor Who. And my Tardis would be green, and look like a portapotty on the outside, as who would wanna go inside that?! lol.
A day, for infinity. Ah Timelord life.

@alice I'd date myself, I think I'm really attractive. Fuck myself? As myself, maybe; as someone else, no
But also demisexual so -

@alice days too short, would like to get to know, form an emotional connection, trust etc. Not sure that kinda works with self? I need the wonder of discovering the other person.

@alice within a heartbeat. It was weird first when realised but amongst male presenting people, I am my type.

I voted "I'm nonbinary; yes". Up until a couple years ago I would've answered no.
I've always been bi/pansexual, so other folx gender wasn't really a factor in who I found attractiveΒΉ, but I'd been convinced that most people only liked me for my body, so I had a complicated relationship with itβa combination of living at the gym to make my body more attractive to peopleΒ² and then hiding it under a big hoodie.
But since I've been in healthy relationships and started unlearning toxic things regarding my self-image and presentation, I've started finding my own body attractive for the first time.
@alice yeah. Leaving a toxic relationship does that a person. π₯°

@alice I really get that amount of work thing, especially looking at man / woman couplesΒΉ where you can see them side by side, and it is clear that she is putting in work and he really isn't.
ΒΉ new weirdest slash pairing
β΄ I saw that

Pick the answer that best represents your current gender expression and orientation.
@alice uuh i don't think cis is short for cishet. cishet just means cis+hetero soo wouldn't it be less likely for cis people to be attracted to thenselves if they are hetero?
-
@alice What this poll really taught me is that there are very few cishet women on Mastodon.
@a_phlaming_phoenix ... who have seen this poll and chose to participate.
Self selection is a real problem in polls.
(You probably knew this ... it's a marker for me to come back to)

@alice@lgbtqia.space It's research, I gotta do a test run.

@alice There was a similar question on a purity test when I was a teenager, and everyone was really freaked out by me saying yes
