There are a couple folks near me that have a sledge they drag behind an ebike. It seems to work reasonably well to make a narrow path. They’re doing the work our municipal and state governments refuse to.

I know one place where somebody went out and cleared a path for a season and then didn't the next year and there were so many complaints that the road folks started doing it.
