Q1. Where are you posting from today? What's new with your bike/cycle?@ascentale @bikenite #BikeNite A1. Home in New England, again, waiting for more snow to arrive, followed by -30°F (-35°C) wind chills tomorrow night.
Absolutely nothing new with either of my bicycles, this week, although I'd like a new 21700 battery headlamp, so I can have my good flashlight back. No money for it, sadly. Also, I need a chain cleaner.

Q1. Where are you posting from today? What's new with your bike/cycle?@ascentale @bikenite A1. #BikeNite Posting from Ventura County, California again. Every once in a while I search around to see if I can find my Pivot Shuttle MTB ebike battery for sale (darfon brand). This week I found a new one on ebay, so figured I should not pass up the opportunity. It wasn't dirt cheap and the battery is rare enough that I kind of doubt anyone would bother to make a counterfeit one, but we'll see. It arrives next week. My current battery is around 5 years old and has lost 1/5th of its capacity. It is still usable, but having a spare should increase the overall life of the bike, without having to resort to making sketchy modifications.

@ascentale @bikenite @cainmark yep. Figuring out plans now.
Due to cargo bike's size I'm probably going to need to ride it to where work will be done. But I will use as much PT as i can.

Q1. Where are you posting from today? What's new with your bike/cycle?@ascentale @bikenite Enjoying #bikenite from south central #minnesota where a short thaw has cleared most roads of snow but there’s still too much #ICE around. Nothing new on the bicycle front this week. Maybe next month #MNastodon

Q1. Where are you posting from today? What's new with your bike/cycle?@ascentale @bikenite A1. Posting from the Front Range of Northern Colorado. I feel really lucky compared to all of you who are snow bound and in frigid temperatures. I got my first 2 rides of the year in this week- sunny and 65°F/18°C. Even saw some flying insects. It does feel strangely nice, but we do need rain/ snow. #bikeNite

Q1. Where are you posting from today? What's new with your bike/cycle?@ascentale @bikenite A1: joining late after a busy evening here in the Hudson Valley, with deep snow everywhere and Sunday morning we’re supposed to get windchills of -30˚F.
Did anyone else catch the livestream this morning by @pekkatahkola in Oulu, Finland? He was riding on a groomed bike path, using his phone to both film and communicate (how does anyone DO that?)
It was inspiring to see the wide bike paths, separate (also groomed) ski trails, easy access to main bldgs…

None of my bikes have anything new but I am considering a new small rack bag to carry tools and things since a big/normal sized bag get kicked on my short framed Trek. The 2 under consideration are these.

What's new with your bike/cycle?@ascentale @bikenite #biketooter #bikenite A1 Posting from Carbon County Montana where 60f 15c temperatures and sunny skies have turned our ice rink to mush. I have been riding the gravel bike all this week. Today I loaded it with parts from the dear departed Kona and took them to our bike center where they will find new life on a polo bike.

Still in South SFBA.The newest part on my bike is the rear tire. The old developed a serious bulge, emergency stop at the LBS, which only had one tire of a useable size. It's a bit wider than I prefer, but it has kept me rolling. Which reminds me that I need to order tires of the size that I actually want.

Q1. Where are you posting from today? What's new with your bike/cycle?@ascentale @bikenite A1 #BikeNite posting from Glyfada, a suburb of Athens (Greece, not Georgia, no not that Georgia). Been off the bike since MLK day, here helping family member with medical emergency (now at "paperwork for travel-insurance-arranged return flight, so mostly mended, no longer an emergency"). Of my three usual bikes, really-newest parts are snow tires, but beyond that, e-assist on the green bike, bar mitts on pink bike, not quite sure on the cute bike.

Today, I ordered new wheels for the rebuild of my old bike. Should be a fun project, but it would be cheaper to just get a new bike. However for nostalgia reasons I’m keeping this one around. #BikeNite

A1. Tucked up in bed in the currently damp and windy hills to the east of Manchester, England.
I currently have no coffee. I'm in a war of attrition with my partner over who's going to crack first. I fear I'm going to lose.
I have a new inline brake sensor for my ebike that's awaiting fitting after the cable disintegrated on the old one. -

@ascentale @bikenite A1. Posting from the western front of Portland OR, where we are besieged by the clear blue sky and bright sunshine of a false spring.
I tuned my own derailleur for the first time recently, and not only did I do it right, I managed to get the chain to stop slipping in high gear, so I can once again use all nine gears.
#bikeNite@yantor3d @ascentale @bikenite
Lovely satisfying sound tick tick tick of a clean chain on clean cassette and well adjusted gears - especially in the relative peace of a workshop
I love tuning / indexing gears - I have to restrain my self from asking strangers at traffic lights (whose gear slipping and rattling has been annoying me) if they would mind stepping off the bike for 10 mins so I can fix it

Q1. Where are you posting from today? What's new with your bike/cycle?A1. Back in London. Feels like end of Winter here. Wet but not that cold. In my personal metric not quite Gabba/Equiv weather, w-proof long fingered gloves but no need for too much warmth.
Dead chuffed with 2nd hand water-proof luggage set I picked up in vinted and eBay. Succeeded in keeping my kit bone dry over 8 days / 500km of very damp riding

Q1. Where are you posting from today? What's new with your bike/cycle?@bikenite @ascentale A1 hi from Highcliffe-on-Sea where the rain has been quite depressing but when the sun has been out, it's been actually warming.
What's new on my bike is a long drop rear brake calliper. The old Shimano R7000 has always been a marginal fit, and after last week's roaring success with the mudguards, everything had shifted so the pads were rubbing on the tyre. This is acknowledged by experts as being a Bad Thing. I shopped around for a long drop calliper, and then saved myself £££ by salvaging a Textro R539 from the hangar queen, and also saved myself a wasted nearly-new rear brake cable by clipping the existing one right at the crimp so there was still some spare. Be prepared to shout "<name of offspring of deity of choice>!" when the crimp flies past your ear. A bit of fettling and presto, a safe and cheap rear brake.
Bonus, when I went to remove the _front_ calliper from the hangar queen, it had corroded in place. So I felt even better with my salvage! #BikeNite
