You'd need something like a Baofeng UV-5R. Also, compared to the Signal Protocol, radio encryption sucks and relies on the "tone" of a radio so it's easier to crack. Not "easy to crack," "easier to crack."

Get a Baofeng UV-5R, either load DragonOS on a LiveUSB stick or just download Chirp, connect the Baofeng to your computer, go through each tone on your local police department's frequency, and maybe you'll get lucky.

At some point we will have lost any chance of regaining our democracy. It's something to ponder it maybe necessary. I've already fought for my country once. I don't think we have the patience of Gandhi. If you will recall MLK was not alone, there was a backdrop ready to react to violence with violence, Malcolm X. Dear, I'm slightly older than igneous rock. I know the face of war up close and personal and have carried it with me for the last 58 years. No, I don't Want to shoot anyone. I have been talking about what the GOP wants since the 70's and they finally got what they were after. I have tried to tell people what djt has wanted since 2015. Had all the bozo's and bozzett's who allowed him to get power a second time paid attention we wouldn't be here. They don't follow laws.

I can imagine the look on your face if you have to walk past armed men in uniform to vote, if you can even do it (that's not a hit on you just fact). "I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign or domestic" the oath I swore to then and still hold dear now. I'm not beating the drum for violence but trying to get across what we May need to do, and what is still within the law.

I don't have to fantasize, it's someplace between absolute boredom and sheer terror. Any Vet will tell you the same, we are far more against wars then most folks you know. But sometimes it becomes necessary to put yourself in a place that requires action. Like I said I swore an Oath. . . Govt and police communication is nearly 100% encrypted and what isn't, is hidden by the use of numerical codes 10/4 for example. Additionally scanners do NOT transmit, they receive. Having been a ham for 68 years, I have never seen a scanner that transmits.
