While some statues in Scotland are routinely given road cones, the one of the Glaswegian broadcaster, writer, climber and all round outdoor enthusiast Tom Weir at Balmaha on the banks of Loch Lomond is sometimes given its very own woolly hat!

@thisismyglasgow I delivered library books to Tom Weir in 1998 when I was on work placement with West Dunbartonshire Libraries. He was such a nice man! (And that was a *great* job.)

Sometimes having just a walk and "discoveries" come out: the word "ιατροφιλοσοφω (-οσ)" is something like "philosopher of medicine".
