@lydiaschoch I'm a cis man, and I insist on having a woman as PCP. To me it's simple: Men don't listen. When someone starts telling us about an issue, we instinctively begin "solving" it in our heads. When our brain's decided it's found the answer, it stops receiving input. OTOH, women continue listening, which is why I want them for diagnosis. I don't discriminate when it comes to specialists.

I’ve loved my women doctors, but not my women PAs. I’m assuming I’ve just had bad luck, but two of the three (PAs, 3 different specialties) were condescending bordering on rude when talking to me.My women doctors on the other hand advocated for me and helped me get diagnosed, even when that meant sending me to another specialist.
