@benroyce Orthopedist in a Catholic healthcare system run by nuns with steel rulers?
@benroyce Also, I think the full name of that disease is "Left-Handed Power Tool User".

there is a cultural stigmatism in the muslim world against using the left hand for certain tasks as well
however:
arabic and persian script is written from the right to the left
all us left handers in left to right systems like latin script are familiar with the ink smudge we get on our palms as we drag our hands over fresh ink
but no such ink smudge for left handers in large parts of the muslim world!

@benroyce A long time ago, back when checks were still widespread, I taught myself how to write checks from right to left.
I used to be militantly left-handed, but I've mellowed a bit. I still sometimes deliberately make people uncomfortable by saying "The only things I do with my right hand are pick my nose, wipe my butt, and shake hands with right-handed people." If I can time it so I'm actually shaking hands with someone as I say it, it goes over super well.

when i greet left handed people, i say "good to meet someone else of the right mind" (due to that weird hemisphere flip)

Real consideration:
This checklist is for an orthopedist. Therefore it's good for the doctor to know: being left handed does bring with it orthopedic considerations in a world designed for right handed people. Although, "Disease History" is probably not the best terminology for the checklist
"Give it to me straight, doctor."
"I'm afraid you have a serious case of left-handedness."
"It is treatable?"
"Yes."
"How?"
"Brain surgery. We will have to flip your brain around."
(I'm left-handed, btw.)

i'm neither-handed (mixed-handed).
that can't be cured by flipping my brain around. gonna need an entire brain transplant. 🧠
