The future of translation. This is Microsoft Translator's own page, and they've decided to machine translate it (and a bunch of linked pages) to Finnish. The result is something to behold. Nearly all compound words are separated, it's full of strange idioms, faulty inflections and broken grammar. @nicd don't worry, they'll generate the original english with an llm next so it won't make sense in english either.

@nicd I genuinely don't understand how they ended up here. Any modern LLM (such as any of the ones Microsoft has paid a few billion for) does a much, much better job.

@nicd While not as broken the German translation of the site isn't very good either. I did find the different translations of "Translator" amusing, though.

@karppinen @nicd I can see a bunch of obvious mistakes like translating brand names they don't translate in other places (I guess for the Finnish market, Microsoft doesn't have "Office Education", and is instead in the business of training?). But what really, really puzzles me is how did "Espoon keskus" come to be...
