Il Tempo: E' morto Paolo Cirino Pomicino, aveva 86 anni
ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Addio a Paolo Cirino Pomicino. L'ex leader della Dc, a lungo ministro tra gli anni '80 e i primi anni '90, è scomparso all'età di 86 anni. Nato a Napoli il 3 settembre del 1939, dopo aver conseguito la laurea in Medicina, Pomicino è entrato in politica nel 1970, diventando consigliere comunale a Napoli con la Democrazia Cristiana: diventerà da lì a breve un perno del partito, con cui fu eletto alla Camera per la prima volta nel 1976 e fino al 1994, anno della fine della Prima Repubblica. Pomicino fu ministro della Funzione pubblica del governo De Mita (1988-1989) e poi ministro del Bilancio e della Programmazione economica di due Governi guidati da Giulio Andreotti. Legato ad Andreotti, aderiva infatti alla sua corrente, Pomicino venne coinvolto in diverse inchieste giudiziarie, a partire da Mani pulite nel 1993. In occasione delle elezioni europee del 2004 Pomicino ha aderito al partito di Clemente Mastella candidandosi con i Popolari UDEUR e risultando eletto nella circoscrizione sud. Venne nuovamente eletto alla Camera nel 2006 nella lista formata dalla DC insieme al Nuovo PSI.

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Paolo Cirino Pomicino has died. The former leader of the DC (Democrazia Cristiana), a long-time minister during the 1980s and early 1990s, passed away at the age of 86. Born in Naples on September 3, 1939, after obtaining a degree in Medicine, Pomicino entered politics in 1970, becoming a municipal councilor in Naples with the Christian Democrat Party: from there, he soon became a pillar of the party, with whom he was first elected to the Chamber of Deputies in 1976 and until 1994, the year of the end of the First Republic. Pomicino served as Minister of Public Administration for the De Mita government (1988-1989) and then as Minister of Budget and Economic Planning for two governments led by Giulio Andreotti. Linked to Andreotti, he belonged to his current, and Pomicino was involved in several judicial investigations, starting with Mani Pulite (Clean Hands) in 1993. In occasione delle elezioni europee del 2004 Pomicino has aderito al partito di Clemente Mastella candidandosi con i Popolari UDEUR e risultando eletto nella circoscrizione sud.
