US Funnels $8.58 Billion Boeing Fighter Jet Deal to Israel, Funded Largely by American Taxpayers - Military dot com
The United States has awarded Boeing a Pentagon-managed contract worth up to $8.58 billion to supply 25 new F-15IA fighter jets to the Israeli occupation forces, with an option for 25 more, under the so-called “F-15 Israel Program.” The deal, signed on December 29, 2025, runs through 2035 and covers production, integration, testing, and delivery of the aircraft.
Although the Pentagon formally contracts and pays Boeing, the jets are purchased through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) system, meaning Israel is the end user. Crucially, Israel typically finances such purchases using U.S. taxpayer-funded Foreign Military Financing (FMF), part of Washington’s long-standing military aid to Israel.
Under the current U.S.–Israel aid framework, Washington provides $3.3 billion annually in FMF, within a $38 billion, 10-year military aid package, allowing Israel to buy U.S. weapons with American public funds. As a result, while Israel is listed as the buyer, the jets are effectively paid for by U.S. taxpayers, with Congress approving and routing the funds.
