Doing some serious reading to see whether my favourite fruit juice needs to disappear from my daily food list, thanks to several medicines I am forced to take. Also to find new, natural sources for vitamins A and C.
Not happy.

Interesting too to see that grapefruit juice can increase the effects of caffeine threefold....

@uc yeah, #Grapefruit has by far the most of one specific biochemical inhibitor that can cause under- overdoses if certain medication.

@uc Oh, that is a shame. Every day, just before or after a meal, I eat a raw carrot to get my vitamin A, because it's fat-soluble. Not very tasty, but effective. If you have any tasty suggestions, please let me know.

@uc I recommended Grapefruit juice, awhile ago, to a writer who wanted to make a murder look natural in her story. Grapefruit juice and heart medication.
Not all poisons taste bad.

I eat carrots, mushrooms, almonds, and dates during the day. Then a cooked meal in the evening. I haven't looked yet, but how can a different fruit replace that wonderful grapefruit flavour?

I have not tried blood oranges recently, but oranges have less of the problem chemicals in them. Pomelos are related strongly to the grapefruit, so....

Are there any fruits which aren't dangerous? I made fresh cranberry sauce the other day, and that seems to be a no-no too.

@uc interesting I did not know that, but I make a point of not drinking coffee after lunchtime and at the moment am drinking half glass of carrot juice in mornings which has some lemon in I think

@uc You might want to look up the official advice about this. For instance, hereโs what the NHS and the Mayo Clinic have to say about warfarin:
