Q1. Where are you posting from today? What's new with your bike/cycle?@ascentale @bikenite A1. Tirana, Albania.
I am a little closer to having a cycle again, thanks to some generous folks who donated via buying my music! #BikeNite #BikeTooter https://mas.to/@meganL/116028126571949534

@ascentale @bikenite A1. Posting from the western front of Portland OR, where we are besieged by the clear blue sky and bright sunshine of a false spring.
I tuned my own derailleur for the first time recently, and not only did I do it right, I managed to get the chain to stop slipping in high gear, so I can once again use all nine gears.
#bikeNite@yantor3d @ascentale @bikenite
Lovely satisfying sound tick tick tick of a clean chain on clean cassette and well adjusted gears - especially in the relative peace of a workshop
I love tuning / indexing gears - I have to restrain my self from asking strangers at traffic lights (whose gear slipping and rattling has been annoying me) if they would mind stepping off the bike for 10 mins so I can fix it

Q1. Where are you posting from today? What's new with your bike/cycle?@ascentale @bikenite A1 - still in sunny (not) Cheshire. Mostly been indoors on Zwift this week due to the horrendous weather but this weekend looks better. Ordered one of the new Garmin rear radars to try out which should be here on Monday.

Our intro:
Q1. Where are you posting from today? What's new with your bike/cycle?A1. Back in London. Feels like end of Winter here. Wet but not that cold. In my personal metric not quite Gabba/Equiv weather, w-proof long fingered gloves but no need for too much warmth.
Dead chuffed with 2nd hand water-proof luggage set I picked up in vinted and eBay. Succeeded in keeping my kit bone dry over 8 days / 500km of very damp riding

A1. Tucked up in bed in the currently damp and windy hills to the east of Manchester, England.
I currently have no coffee. I'm in a war of attrition with my partner over who's going to crack first. I fear I'm going to lose.
I have a new inline brake sensor for my ebike that's awaiting fitting after the cable disintegrated on the old one.@ascentale @bikenite
I lost.
On the plus side, I now have coffee. -

Q1. Where are you posting from today? What's new with your bike/cycle?@ascentale @bikenite A1 Cumbria UK, another splash of sealant in a tyre that stubbornly refuses to stop sweating is all that's new this week.

Q1. Where are you posting from today? What's new with your bike/cycle?@bikenite @ascentale A1 hi from Highcliffe-on-Sea where the rain has been quite depressing but when the sun has been out, it's been actually warming.
What's new on my bike is a long drop rear brake calliper. The old Shimano R7000 has always been a marginal fit, and after last week's roaring success with the mudguards, everything had shifted so the pads were rubbing on the tyre. This is acknowledged by experts as being a Bad Thing. I shopped around for a long drop calliper, and then saved myself £££ by salvaging a Textro R539 from the hangar queen, and also saved myself a wasted nearly-new rear brake cable by clipping the existing one right at the crimp so there was still some spare. Be prepared to shout "<name of offspring of deity of choice>!" when the crimp flies past your ear. A bit of fettling and presto, a safe and cheap rear brake.
Bonus, when I went to remove the _front_ calliper from the hangar queen, it had corroded in place. So I felt even better with my salvage! #BikeNite

#bikeNite@ascentale @bikenite @yantor3d I was well chuffed that I could sort out the rear shifter on my Mum's bike a few months back, she was impressed! A good skill to share! #BikeNite

@yantor3d @ascentale @bikenite @MatthewNewell we all need a cycling fairy-godmother
#BikeNite -
@bikenite @ascentale A1: Upper Peninsula of Michigan, US. Today my freewheel skipped a bit, probably because of some water (then ice) inside blocking the pawls. This weekend I'll take it apart and relube. #BikeNite
@bikenite @ascentale @josh
hoping it's temporary because my only experience is of worn out pawls a long walk from home, and I wouldn't fancy it in that weather! #BikeNite -
@ascentale @bikenite A1 #BikeNight Naarm, and well, this is what's new with my bike
-
@ascentale @bikenite A1: from the tarmac at DCA. I’ve been in DC all week for work so no biking for me even if I wanted to bike share since there’s frozen ice covering everything out here! #Bikenite
@ascentale @bikenite @genex adventure scootering! #BikeNite

Also I’ve been away on compassionate leave and have been walking a lot between locations in Derby, the home of Mercian Cycles.

Our intro:
Q1. Where are you posting from today? What's new with your bike/cycle?@bikenite @ascentale City near Frankfurt, Germany, as usual. Still waiting for spring to arrive.
Last week temperatures still were around freezing point and some snow flakes showed up again. My tyres on my bike are not best for such conditions and it easily gets slippery on cold wet streets, so I used my bicycle only once to help my old father in law switch from Windows to Linux. -
@ascentale @bikenite A1: North King County like usual. Nothing really new with my bike this week, but I did get tossed by that stupid F***ING curb gap that I always take perpendicular to avoid being tossed by it but NOT THIS TIME, APPARENTLY
(i am fine. i have a bandaid on my left pointer finger. It doesn't even hurt.)
@ascentale @bikenite @moira I really feel you. These bad infrastructure you will find all over here, and I still wear some scratches on my knee because of them.

@bikenite @ascentale aside: one of those pads is probably the wrong way round

@ascentale @bikenite A1. Posting from the Front Range of Northern Colorado. I feel really lucky compared to all of you who are snow bound and in frigid temperatures. I got my first 2 rides of the year in this week- sunny and 65°F/18°C. Even saw some flying insects. It does feel strangely nice, but we do need rain/ snow. #bikeNite
@ascentale @bikenite @daliazygas Enjoy!
(We'll hopefully get to this season too.) -
@ascentale @bikenite A1. Santa Clara, CA where the craziness of American football will climax on Sunday (after numerous military flybys.
Today, I ordered new wheels for the rebuild of my old bike. Should be a fun project, but it would be cheaper to just get a new bike. However for nostalgia reasons I’m keeping this one around. #BikeNite
@ascentale @bikenite @rand Yeah! It again will be a crazy long night over here in Germany. Although I wished the Niners would make it. Anyway.
I hardly missed any of the latest maybe 30 Superbowls, although I know I will see my bed not before 5 am in the night.

Q1. Where are you posting from today? What's new with your bike/cycle?@ascentale A1. Home in Rome. Nothing new on the bicycle front here. The weather has been pretty bad much of the week (though getting noticeably warmer) with a lot of heavy rain. That meant I could not take the bicycle down to the LBS to get the head tube looked at. It wobbles a bit too much for my taste.
