@rpmik @Geotripper I've been down there at least once before so missing it on this last trip wasn't a huge deal.

Writers: Generative AI models were built on our stolen works, are deeply unethical, and risk devaluing our entire profession.@jamesthomson @michaelrowe01 I don't think the developers will be so enthusiastic when they vibe code themselves out of a job.

Less than 100 miles from home.Less than 100 miles from home.

This is why I pay for roadside assistance. I'm sitting in my camper, debating whether I should make myself some hot cocoa while I wait for the tire change guy to come.

God I love that someone is doing actual analysis on this question that my mom and sisters constantly harangued me about as a kid.@scuttlebutt @kboyd @lkanies Yes, I think closing the lid is a good idea. The only time it's not a good idea is if the toilet seat is made of painted wood. (The old ones were made that way; I recently was in a place that had a wood one.) When you close the lid, moisture builds up under the lid seat and the wood absorbs it. I think that's worse than some aerosol from flushing.

#AskFedi for those of you who are #blind or #VisuallyImpaired , or regularly use #ScreenReaders but aren't either, is it better for readability if I capitalise words in #hashtags or use underscores?@disorderlyf @threeforks #CamelCase is best.

Capitalism has convinced people that new always equals βbetterβ so if you want to rebel against Capitalism start to recognize that βnewβ is often just a way to extract more money from you.@rasterweb @kboyd Can confirm.
I'm still driving a 1999 Jeep Wrangler I bought new, a 2003 Honda S2000 I bought new, and a 2012 Ford F350 I bought used in 2015. Buy good stuff and take care of it and it should serve you forever. (But I sure do wish the Jeep had Bluetooth. π€ͺ)

Reorganizing the back of the utility trailer was brutal hard work and, of course, I waited too long to get started and it was HOT.@EllenInEdmonton I've got a big organization job to do when I get home. I'd like to get rid of about half the stuff in my garage. There will be a lot of throwing away and there will be a lot of giving away on craigslist and there will be a lot of selling on Facebook marketplace (I've got a neighbor who will do that for me). I think I'm going to do it little by little, probably two hours a day until it's done. That's the plan right now, anyway. I'll use a timer.

But the job is done and everything that needs to go back there is secure β except the 2x4 folding table, camp chair, and portable solar panel I'm using. #RoadTrip #RVing

It always makes me sad when another fedi user - and, in my experience, it is always a woman - says that they feel unsafe posting here, because of replies they get. -
It always makes me sad when another fedi user - and, in my experience, it is always a woman - says that they feel unsafe posting here, because of replies they get.@alex @neil Yes and no. If someone has fears, then yes. But the way I find new people to follow is when they interact with my posts. Having an option like that turned on would prevent me from doing that.
So I guess my answer really is YES, as long as it's an OPTION.
I have no qualms about blocking assholes, and I really don't care what they say behind my back. Unlike them, I have a life and it isn't centered on social media.

Any teacher who says "girls don'tβ¦" is not qualified to be a teacher.
