I'm not a historian, but I wonder how people living in the british isles fared after the collapse of the (notably hierarchical and horrifically unequal) roman empire. There are (or were, anyway) still aqueducts, roads, etc.

I know it feels easier to accept bad news in advance, but don't suffer the arrow strike before it happens. If you can't dodge fully, you can still impact where it hits and what you do after. You can use that experience to protect other people from arrows.

I didn't do well in my physics degree (undiagnosed / unsupported disabilities are difficult, wow). I have to wonder if observation of events without intending them to happen might help (in some way).
Like, if I look at my cats, the photons reflecting off their fur would have been heading toward my retina anyway. I just turned my head to pick them up.
