@grishka@friends.grishka.me You can fine foreign entities if they operate in your country. If they don't obey they can get blocked from the whole UK internet, we currently don't have access to Rule34, PornHub (at least the NSFW area) along with a few other NSFW services at all, others are IDed and illegal content has been made easier for children to find as these safer sites are now wiped out. So the OSA has done a lot more damage than fix.

We’ve moved our internal communications from Discord to Zulip at Mastodon, and I think there are plans to do the same for our Patreon community. -
We’ve moved our internal communications from Discord to Zulip at Mastodon, and I think there are plans to do the same for our Patreon community.@grishka@friends.grishka.me @Gargron@mastodon.social If they refuse to ID people they can get 'fines of up to £18 million or 10% of qualifying worldwide revenue' whichever is bigger.
It's sadly not just porn sites but also self-help sites, subreddits, communities and all sorts now. -
We’ve moved our internal communications from Discord to Zulip at Mastodon, and I think there are plans to do the same for our Patreon community.@grishka@friends.grishka.me @Gargron@mastodon.social It all started with the UK's Online Safety Act, where we now ID for porn sites, the UK Gov has since pushed for IDing on these platforms and it's being pushed out worldwide as it's not cost effective for just one country.
It's stupid and is one of the reasons I'm finding alternatives for friends -
We’ve moved our internal communications from Discord to Zulip at Mastodon, and I think there are plans to do the same for our Patreon community.@amazing_helenab@mastodon.social This is why people should look at moving, why should our privacy be taken away just because of some countries like the UK with there Online Safety Act removing our Privacy for data collecting hidden as protecting children

We’ve moved our internal communications from Discord to Zulip at Mastodon, and I think there are plans to do the same for our Patreon community.@athayes@mas.to @Gargron@mastodon.social It shouldn't but it does give them access to scan and look through more posts especially media, we've had it in the UK for a while now and we've had data leaks and lots of problems with this system, highly suggest finding a new place.

Imagine sharing a link to your fediverse account to someone not on the fediverse, hoping they follow you.@knowprose@mastodon.social I'm pretty sure this is what @dansup@mastodon.social was trying to make with this but maybe I'm wrong.

I’ve been asked on TV hits and interviews lately to explain why decentralized social media is better, especially re: Mastodon.@anatolegc@piaille.fr @Mastodon@mastodon.social @taylorlorenz@mastodon.social Posters and Flyers are a great idea to produce, this is something that I'm thinking of starting to create myself and start selling in the future.
Happy to chat about designs and see what we could come up with for certain cities and things -
If you see a post with numbers at the bottom like any of these:@vega@veganism.social @FediTips@social.growyourown.services
Not everyone has the ability to change there instance to accept more characters -
Boo. The iOS #Loops beta expired, and I’ve been removed from the test.@lorimolson@mstdn.ca The app has officially been released on the store so that's at least good unless you where actually giving feedback often about the experience and how it runs.

I'm not sure but Mastodon@haubles@hachyderm.io @Mastodon@mastodon.social You link seems to be broken along with I was merely asking why it was turned off?

I'm not sure but MastodonI'm not sure but Mastodon.Social seems to have hidden there public feeds. Wonder if this is a push towards moving people towards other @Mastodon@mastodon.social Instances or something happened.
Either way I hope this pushes people to other instances and spreads awareness of decentralization over turning people away.

The Great Migration 🚀@makeitmythic@mastodon.social Yes it's totally possible, Lemmy communities are completely followable along with the Lemmy users. Well they won't see any of your normal microblogging posts they can see your stuff boosted from mentioning the Lemmy Community.
3 people liking your post is still good, I don't often get likes but when people like, boost and comment on my posts I know that I've create and shared something where it needs to be and people want to hear it. In the end this is a space for communication and yes sometimes you're wrong place and the wrong time but other times it's just right. -
The Great Migration 🚀@makeitmythic@mastodon.social I really suggest that people don't crowd mastodon.social as feeds are chronological it gets flooded with stuff making it hard to get interaction. Also a key friend is hashtags they always help get things out there, interaction no matter what is a key thing as often posting into the void doesn't really do much.
Also to interact with a Lemmy community you simply mention that community as apart of your post and it'll be boosted onto it. -
The Great Migration 🚀@makeitmythic@mastodon.social Bluesky uses a different protocol and isn't apart of the Fediverse without the @bsky.brid.gy@bsky.brid.gy bridge what needs to go both ways.
When it comes to the Fediverse you sometimes need other accounts but it depends on the sort of experience you want, I work fine off a Microblogging account for most of my interactions, I use a software called Sharkey for more usability and it allows me to follow users off Loops, PixelFed, Mastodon, PeerTube or Lemmy but it's a little annoying / needs some work arounds to post onto Lemmy, PixelFed is easy to post my stuff onto as I simply need an image in the post. PeerTube and Loops are kinda a no go for them seeing my content even if I upload a video sadly but that's fine if you don't want to be a creator in that matter.
These systems like Loops are new or even in BETA so it'll take some time to make sure these work all together but it also depends on the people using it, if you feel like a feature is missing voice about it, see who has the same opinion, if you have tech knowledge code it.
