@HarriettMB To be fair, it sounds like they are making at least some effort to do that: see the bit near the bottom of the article about catch-up clinics.
I do hope they are being well publicised.

The measles outbreak in North London is looking like quite a big deal.
Remember folks, while most kids in developed countries who get measles will make a full recovery, there is still a substantial minority that can get serious complications. It is not a benign disease.
If you have kids, this would be a good time to check that they are up to date with their vaccinations.
The MMR vaccine provides excellent protection against measles.
@selzero How about this aria from the Marriage of Figaro. Not only is it in Italian, it's also about the humble servant sticking it to the aristocracy
@r_alb I would ask how happy they would be to have a dump in this washroom
Happy Friday everyone
"Free" AI training
No, it's not free, you're just paying for it through your taxes rather than through user fees.
Though exactly how much you're paying for it seems to be less than transparent. Funny that.
Anyway, if you want genuinely free AI training, it follows in this toot, and it won't take you much time to do the course.
Are you ready?
Here we go...
Don't.

@xtaldave @FediThing Consider Johnson hereby blamed.
@iaruffell Not a massive surprise, but still shameful.
Though while anti-vax attitudes surely play a part, I am not convinced that's the whole story. I'm sure our dysfunctional healthcare system has something to do with it as well.
@TheDonsieLass Yes, that sounds right. And to be fair to the government, at least they are now starting to try to do something about it, or at least the first of those 3.
@nusher And no doubt there are some who fall through the cracks, right?
@FediThing Though to be fair to the government, it looks like they are starting to think about this sort of thing, which is welcome
@FediThing I would very much assume it's some combination of the 2, though I don't know of good data on the relative contribution of each.
Antivax lies are pretty self explanatory and I'm sure they contribute. But there are also barriers to getting appointments that the government could address better than they have.
This is a huge mark of shame for the UK.
There is absolutely no reason why one of the world's richest countries shouldn't be able to keep measles at bay.
The causes are no doubt complex, but this really should be a solvable problem for a rich country with the political will to solve it.
@annehargreaves @ShaulaEvans Yes they are! Sadly I don't have a photo of any.
@ShaulaEvans Maybe not as cool as some of the other responses you're getting but one bug I genuinely love is the cinnabar moth.
They lay their eggs on the ragwort plant, which then turn into really beautiful stripy caterpillars. The caterpillars can completely destroy the foliage of a whole plant.
Many people consider ragwort to be a weed (it can be toxic to horses) and pull it up, but I always let any in my garden grow.
@afewbugs But if Nextcloud tasks doesn't have a recurrence feature, I guess I won't be using that as a Todoist replacement anytime soon. I have absolutely loads of recurring tasks set up. Couldn't possibly use a to-do list system that didn't have it.
@afewbugs Ah yes, I suppose Todoist is American. I'm trying to wean myself off US tech too, but ditching Todoist is quite a way down my to-do list (ironically enough). My current project is trying to replace Google Maps Timelines, and funnily enough my current solution, which I think I've pretty much got working, also uses Nextcloud.
