at least there's this (it made me laugh) -
Does advertising really workThey work if we buy the thing. I can sing the shake and vac song, but I've never bought the stuff in my life.
Also there are ads on tv that I remember every time they come up, but couldn't actually tell you what they are for. I just zone that out a lot of the time.
I'm an advertiser's nightmare. I buy more or less the same groceries every week, usually based on price. I buy almost all my clothes in charity shops. I hang onto tech as long as I can.

Lidl is experimenting with closing the conveyor belt checkouts and forcing everyone to use the self-service terminals.@davepolaschek @yngmar @withaveeay
Wow! A good way to make your point....

Lidl is experimenting with closing the conveyor belt checkouts and forcing everyone to use the self-service terminals.Yeah, if I tried it, it would trigger a loud scream as I broke my leg falling over the gate.

Lidl is experimenting with closing the conveyor belt checkouts and forcing everyone to use the self-service terminals. That "scan receipt to get out" also fails if you went in to look for something but they didn't have it so you aren't buying anything.

Lidl is experimenting with closing the conveyor belt checkouts and forcing everyone to use the self-service terminals.@yngmar here, they tend to close the staffed checkouts at quieter times, but will open one on request. We always insist on a staffed checkout if we can.
If I have to scan my own goods, I want staff discount!
And there's no way my Mum would cope with using one.

It's Friday!@Sarahw @eclectech @forestfjord
We're used to camera trickery now - at the time it must have wowed people.
These days, they'd probably do it with CGI, where's the fun in that!

It's Friday!Watching the original, I realise I thought the room was just constantly slowly turning whereas in reality the transitions are quite fast!

It's pretty wild out there folks, #StormIngrid just quite literally blew my glasses off my face and across the road which has never happened before in all my years of being a speccy nerd.@helenclayton @afewbugs @SaintlySin
I wonder where that sits on the Beaufort scale....

It's Friday!Have you seen this before? I just came across it.

It's Friday!I just went and watched that again. Amazing.

It's Friday!I'm always astonished by their ability to dance like they weigh nothing (Fred Astaire too). If I even attempted stuff like that, there'd be a hole through the floor.

Is there a way to set recurring tasks (daily, every Wednesday etc) in #NextCloud tasks?@pseudonym @EricBranse @jetlagjen @afewbugs @kitten_tech
Yes, I heard it about the University of York library, which was built on the side of a slope and the story was that once the books were added it started sliding downwards.

Considering it apparently takes 7 or 8 years to qualify as an Architect, you'd think they'd be taught some useful stuff at some point.

Is there a way to set recurring tasks (daily, every Wednesday etc) in #NextCloud tasks? One of my favourites is the church hall stairs, which have a chrome rail and glass panel bannister. But they turn 180 degrees halfway up, so a large part of two of the glass panels overlap with a narrow gap, making them difficult to reach to clean.
And outside, where the ramp that goes from the church yard gate to the hall door cuts across two of the window niches, providing a lovely spot for autumn leaves to gather, with only a very narrow gap to get a broom in.

There are times when paperless works, but there are many occasions when paper really is the way to go!

Is there a way to set recurring tasks (daily, every Wednesday etc) in #NextCloud tasks? That's appalling - both the initial mistake and the fix!

Is there a way to set recurring tasks (daily, every Wednesday etc) in #NextCloud tasks? As a cleaner, married to a caretaker, I can assert that architects have never had to clean or maintain a building....
