You claim the laws are 'anything but alike,' yet Germany’s current role as a major arms supplier to a genocide shows that in practice, the state's (and your, for that matter) legal and ethical bar for protecting humanity hasn't shifted as much as you'd like to believe.

Do you base your decisions on •actual• German law (which criminalizes public support for war crimes, and gives international law constitutional status), or vibes-based German "law", i.e., what the current "law enforcement" chooses to ignore or illegitimately overenforce? We can produce countless examples of German authorities ignoring its own laws in this matter, or actively breaking them.

Or at least that's the idea - there's also been so much noise on that hashtag and so many cases of abuse that many admins are ignoring it nowadays.

@cepharum Recall that everything that Hitler did was protected by German law and always within the legal limits. Before you reply, I'm not claiming that the current German law today is like the law in Naz Germany. Arguing against that would be missing the point.
I'm saying that following the law as the bare minimum is not nearly enough to be a decent human. Up until not so long ago (2006 if I recall correctly) it wasn't illegal for a husband to rape his wife. Germany considered it legal that a man could force his wife to have sex with him even when she didn't want to. But if you were friends with such a married couple before 2006, and if you were a decent human being, you would help the woman and shun the man, even when there was no law yet prohibiting rape among two married people.
You should suspend that propaganda troll. As many other instances have already done.
Current German law makes it explicitly clear that not just the denial of the Holocaust is illegal in Germany, but the denial of ALL genocides and all war crimes is illegal in Germany.
As instance moderators you have a responsibility to block genocide deniers from violating German law on your platform.
