This is really interesting from a clinical perspective. I used computer dictation after to scribe my notes but it was me speaking directly to the dictation software, rather than typing, and having synthesised my thoughts.
You are allowed to ask the practitioner not to use Ai transcription. They may have to pause more but it is your consultation.
And, I’ve said it before. When you go to any clinical meeting, ponder 3 things before you go in.
1) what’s on your mind. What do you want to discuss, what’s the most important thing you want to discuss.
2) what do you want the outcome of the conversation to be? Referral? Treatment? Reassurance and monitoring?
3) when will you be satisfied? This is especially important for chronic presentations, where return to function is more likely than true resolution and that sadly sometimes some things cannot be achieved.
