    @yantor3d @ascentale @bikenite yay!

    that's something I found gets easier with just doing it more often too, first couple of times I tried it I was all "...thumbs?" but now I'm like "oooooh okay, I think I'm getting this." Not up to _confident_ yet, but. šŸ˜„

    @moira @ascentale @bikenite Practice makes permanent...

    I'm amused by my bike stand. It's a benchtop repair stand, but because I'm allergic to permanence, it's screwed to a scrap of plywood that I clamp to my workbench šŸ™‚

      @bikenite A1. Hi all, in Oakland CA today. I tried making a chain tensioner for my bike, and it sort of works. It works better than dropping a chain a lot, but it's still not perfect. But better is good!

        #bikenite A1:
        I'm posting from home in Rochester Minnesota.
        There's nothing really new with my bikes, but I did ride today without needing studded tires for the first time in over three weeks due to a thaw overnight.

            @ascentale @bikenite A1. Coming to you live from sunny Eugene, OR?? Yeah, weird weather. No new bikes unfortunately but I need to pull down my SOLO and give her the once over this weekend.

              @ascentale @bikenite A1. Northern Virginia as always, where biking is off the table while the streets are lined with what they are calling ā€œsnowcrete.ā€ #BikeNite

                @ascentale @bikenite A1: from the tarmac at DCA. I’ve been in DC all week for work so no biking for me even if I wanted to bike share since there’s frozen ice covering everything out here! #Bikenite

                  @ascentale @bikenite A1: North King County like usual. Nothing really new with my bike this week, but I did get tossed by that stupid F***ING curb gap that I always take perpendicular to avoid being tossed by it but NOT THIS TIME, APPARENTLY

                  (i am fine. i have a bandaid on my left pointer finger. It doesn't even hurt.)

                      A1. Indoors in Tokyo. Snow in the forecast -- most likely just a smattering, but the worry is the possibility of streets freezing overnight.

                      Following a bit of tuning up and a short ride last weekend, both bikes are out of the Workshop in the Sky and back in the underground parking for the first time in a couple of months.

                                @ascentale @bikenite a1. From my usual Seattle. Not much new except I washed my commuter/utility cycle, and put on newly waxed chains on both my road cycles. Been enjoying the unseasonably warm weather with some nice rides around town.

                                  @ascentale @bikenite #BikeNite A1. Home in New England, again, waiting for more snow to arrive, followed by -30°F (-35°C) wind chills tomorrow night.

                                  Absolutely nothing new with either of my bicycles, this week, although I'd like a new 21700 battery headlamp, so I can have my good flashlight back. No money for it, sadly. Also, I need a chain cleaner.

                                    @ascentale @bikenite A1. #BikeNite Posting from Ventura County, California again. Every once in a while I search around to see if I can find my Pivot Shuttle MTB ebike battery for sale (darfon brand). This week I found a new one on ebay, so figured I should not pass up the opportunity. It wasn't dirt cheap and the battery is rare enough that I kind of doubt anyone would bother to make a counterfeit one, but we'll see. It arrives next week. My current battery is around 5 years old and has lost 1/5th of its capacity. It is still usable, but having a spare should increase the overall life of the bike, without having to resort to making sketchy modifications.

                                      @ascentale @bikenite @cainmark yep. Figuring out plans now.

                                      Due to cargo bike's size I'm probably going to need to ride it to where work will be done. But I will use as much PT as i can.

                                        @ascentale @bikenite Enjoying #bikenite from south central #minnesota where a short thaw has cleared most roads of snow but there’s still too much #ICE around. Nothing new on the bicycle front this week. Maybe next month #MNastodon

                                          @ascentale @bikenite A1. Posting from the Front Range of Northern Colorado. I feel really lucky compared to all of you who are snow bound and in frigid temperatures. I got my first 2 rides of the year in this week- sunny and 65°F/18°C. Even saw some flying insects. It does feel strangely nice, but we do need rain/ snow. #bikeNite
