In my book, both girls share blame for taking on trust a statement at odds with general knowledge of jellyfish (the fact that the question was asked indicates that the possibility of danger was recognised). The originator of the ‘it’s safe’ information also takes a big share of the blame, but Sally gets extra blame for misjudging the trustworthiness of her informant.
In the real world, blame is rarely completely binary.

I think about “engagement” differently on Mastodon. Before the Elon-gation of Twitter I had more than 12k5 followers there (I left at that point!) Here I have fewer than a quarter of that number, but I feel far more engaged. People scrolling past one’s Tweets without even glancing at them counted as being ‘seen’ — a meaningless statistic! -

OK, fair point. But AI is the problems of capitalism writ large, and any engineer/programmer buying into the hype is making things worse. That’s the message I took from the OP, and that is a message worth amplifying. -

So it appears that ICE tells their recruits they get $50k bonus, but it comes with a severe REPAYMENT CLAUSE that says that recruits must pay back the full bonus amount BEFORE TAX if they quit or are fired for ANY REASON.@madjo @drahardja
That puts the Dems in a cleft stick: do they announce that they won’t enforce the clawback if they make ICE employees redundant, thereby removing the financial incentive to interfere with elections but maybe pissing off their voter base? -
