@leftylabourtech Do you seriously think Ford won't sell it first? He's going to try to take over the Islands and sell/lease them to his buds. At the rate he's going, will there be any public green space left anywhere close to the lake?
@datum Effective regulation of social media will be what legislators can force social media companies to reveal. Will this force social media to develop zero knowledge protocols that allow regulation without revealing what social media wish to hold private?Would these be enough of a compromise to regulate effectively, as social media works to build a sophisticated knowledge of every noble and ugly idea our public hold and monetize every part of this?
@yogthos Canada’s largest airports have already been somewhat privatized decades ago. Contract for their management given to friends of government. YVR Inc, GTAA. ADM are all corporations in charge if running their airport and fund uogrades. As a result, Toronto has some of highest fees in world. ADM was nearly bankrupt twice due to white elephant plans to rebuild Dorval and literally demolish Mirabel, à federal asset.
@ohmu Ya… the wallflowers at Golf Club ballroom are all heading out to Carney’s basement to drink aakavit & dance to Europe’s garage band instead… Much more fun…
Stephen Harper must be fuming with jealousy.Privatization would only bring job cuts, less service and higher costs for travellers. But foreign investors would get rich.@jpalmer
@f800gecko Has anyone calculated the commitments Alberta would have to solely fund if a country. Things like Medicare, police, armed forces, international affairs, border enforcement, etc?
