It is called a #siege. The #USA is killing #Cubans. First from lack of #medicine and supplies for #healthcare, soon from lack of #energy, and #starvation.

Canadians apparently stuck in Cuba because of lack of jet fuel. -
The ugliness of organized #hate campaigns is on full display, even here in the #fediverse. The ugliness of organized #hate campaigns is on full display, even here in the #fediverse.
I find it bitterly ironic that they seem obsessed with the shooter being a #trans #woman, trying to blame it on her #gender.
But they do not blame the gender of all the #men who have been mass shooters. One a day, on average, in the USA.
#Canada is reeling from our second school shooting in a decade.

Crashing the courts is part of the strategy of the Trump regime. They're a bit slow at wired, eh?
What I would like to see is the courts putting every business case on pause until the government-related queue is empty. Contracts are less important than Constitution.
Bet this strategy of 'flooding the field' might be drowned out if it happened.

Question :As visitor borrowing a car in Canada and insurance .There is an optional 'unlisted driver protection' which is free for the owner, and they can call their insurer to get it added. It is free until there is an unlisted driver claim; future insurance **with the unlisted driver protection** will have an increase in cost.

Question :As visitor borrowing a car in Canada and insurance .Each province and territory in Canada has its own legal structure regarding insurance, and I cannot advise about any region but #britishColumbia.
In #BC most personal auto insurance is through the #ICBC, which is owned by the province. If you borrow a car from a family member, and there is an insurance claim, the claim is covered. There may be a penalty if you are not a 'listed driver'.

This is the best, and worst, news of the week.RE: https://socialbc.ca/@chris/115861588815928326
This is the best, and worst, news of the week.
Best is the topic of the article: the Yə̓yus Energy project itself with Wei Wai Kum First Nation holding the golden share.
Worst is learning #VancouverIsland relies on an electrical supply line from the mainland. The Island has plenty of renewable opportunity, particularly wind. In particular, I think a #WindFarm on Cook Bank, off the north end of the island, could be huge for the Nuu-chah-nulth.

Blame the Premiers, in particular some of which are working hard to achieve this exact result as a lead up to proposing privatization.@northernlights @chad @johnefrancis @dmacphee @EdwinG
I just learned about the [Council of the Federation](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_of_the_Federation), about which I had never read before even when studying up for citizenship.
This is actually fascinating.
And the first thing it makes me think of is: Smoke & Mirrors. It doesn't get much more back room dealing than this. Even the #Wikipedia article is tagged for possible manipulation via primary sources.

As gold drops back from a peak of nearly $5,600 to back under $5,000 the Q. is:DE is talking openly about bringing their reserves to EU; I think DK as well. Iirc, the last complete physical audit in the USA was a century ago.
It seems a perennial parlour speculation.
Canada announced an amazing mineral project yesterday, a new alumia deposit ~50% the size of all known reserves on the planet. Crickets.

When I first saw the news reports about knitting the Melt the Ice hat, I immediately ordered red yarn.Knit the hat!
It doesn't matter what others move on to; the hat is for YOU, and you know why you will wear it.
And so will most of us.
When I wear my pussy hat, I get thumbs up and smiles - people know why I made it, though I have never met them. None of them recognize my black tube hat, a pattern knit during the war for sailors who might need a watch cap, or a narrow bag, or a scarf, or a towel/rag…
And you may see me knitting, or wearing, my Melt hat, too.

NDP MP Leah Gazan is backing a petition to have the federal government intervene in the matter of the unwarranted and anti-trans restrictions on gender affirming health-care in Alberta arising from Bill-26.I signed. I hope everyone who has seen how the USA uses Trans rights as a wedge issue will join in - Trans people are people! not tools to encourage citizens to be dumb.
