    Actions speak louder than words.

I am unable to install EU Login app in my phone because I use LineageOS and not the Google Spy Android.

Thus, I cannot use the double factor authentication, mandatory from the 25-02-2026 on unless I tell Google.

A frontal attack to our #privacy.

    Stupid, no?

    @EUCommission

I hope BRICs develop better solutions for their citizens.

The EU is a sock puppet of the US empire.

(Look at what they do, not what they say).

@jdelacueva yeah... it's not great. I had to buy a YubiKey to get 2FA without Google when accessing @EUCommission portals

@jdelacueva Shame on you @EUCommission Europe should be internet-sovereign and stop depending exclusively on foreign US big tech shady corporations.

European citizens that pay taxes in Europe and try to use Europe based alternatives to Apple or Android shouldn't be treated like this. It is a disgrace. Things like this have to change. We need European software running on an European OS, for Europe's sake!

@jdelacueva @EUCommission Does this actually require explicitly Google's own authenticator?

There are a number of two-factor authenticators that should be completely compatible. (My preferred option being Aegis, but there are others.)

@jdelacueva @EUCommission At least one EU Agency uses Microsoft services (even for user management and login/security issues) and you have to use either SMS or MS for 2FA, no open standards.

@jdelacueva @EUCommission if the 2FA requires one particular app to use, that's suspicious, too. there are plenty of apps that will work with 2FA.

Is it part of #CRA requirements ?

Are anti concurrency practices also a model threat to you ?

Lot of questions, few answers so far, only implementations with mixed feelings..

Australian here. Don't even know at what layer my New South Wales State Government app isn't playing nice with GrapheneOS... but it doesn't bloody work mate.
                                  I share your anger.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but I'm currently able to add a passkey as a second factor, under "Manage my Trusted Platforms, Security Keys and Passkeys".

That should allow you to use e.g. KeePassDX on Android.

@jdelacueva @EUCommission EU should fix thisโ€ฆ & their date format to 2026-02-25 like the ISO 8601 standard.

@greatlaketrout The EU is in bed with big tech despite them claiming otherwise (You probably know but this is for the people that don't)
