@AskPippa New technologies always bring with them new challenges for sure. That's why some of the amazing things scientists do sometimes fizzle out unfortunately. But scientific progress often comes in leaps and starts, we never know who's going to connect the final dot. If you do look them up, I'd love to know what you think — always interesting to hear from someone who lives at the science end of things.
@DrFell yes, but all of our herbs come out of our pharmacy as custom made formulas (combined with other herbs) based on a diagnosis and treatment strategy. We don't offer herbs as retailed products. My goal is to teach herbs, and eventually formulas, so that anyone interested can get their own herbs and know how to use them.
And if that was not bad enough, hospitals and doctors want to be your #AISlop casino dealers. . . > Americans ask AI for health care. Hospitals think the answer is more chatbots. https://arstechnica.com/health/2026/04/americans-ask-ai-for-health-care-hospitals-think-the-answer-is-more-chatbots/#ThisIsAmerica #BadEconomy #sloperator #cogsucker #HealthCare #medicine #tech
@ProPublica Well, the toxically rich must STAY toxically rich after all. That's the MOST IMPORTANT thing in the world, more important than fixing climate change, ending war (NEVER! WAR = $$$$), or human rights.
Point (2) is what then arises. The population DOES NOT grow stronger from exposure to measles. If it did, there would by now obviously be no such thing as measles! So it cannot be the case. That is logical thinking. I know there are a lot of people around who mouth the words ‘critical thinking’ but they are merely mouthing a slogan. I am talking about LOGICAL thinking, or PLAUSIBLE INFERENCE. It is a skill not taught in our universities.
@DejGuy 'Sokay, I'm not worried about this lady. My oh my what a difference a full records request to your insurance carrier can make. When I'm done, and it will take a little while, I admit, she'll either fill my meds or lose her license.

@wild1145 The #FediVerse difference in a nutshell, I think: relatable interruptions and problems in life.We don't have service interruptions because some nutter decided to spend millions of quid on some snake oil or playing at politics in a foreign country. We have service interruptions because the sysop happened to be in the middle of cooking dinner. Or was in IKEA. (-:And the rest of the world does not fall apart. It's the BBS days all over again, where we actually know our #sysops as people, which isn't a bad thing.
Next installment of trying to get a blood draw:After waiting about 30 minutes for the blood draw, my partner had an idea and walked to the oncology building (about 1km). Turns out that even though I had received a message that I needed to get the blood draw elsewhere, oncology still does blood draws before appointments if you show up early. So, all the machinations were unnecessary.
@gutenberg_org I wonder if he could have imagined the obscene profit to be made by the predatory pharmaceutical companies manufacturing it for pennies over a century later?
