@renardboy @wandrecanada @remixtures Exactly this. We know a reasonable baseline for human performance. How does the performance of an #AI-assisted human compare? What about an AI working alone? I also want to know about the false negatives — the missed cancer detections. We want fewer, Do missed detections go up or down with AI assistance? Are the numbers consistent over time? I have to say that these studies are at best inconclusive. The sample population (of doctors) is far too small and it is not clear that the doctors who participated in the study are representative of the population of gastroenterologist doctors.
@Brad_Rosenheim @IncHulk Our premiums are 1500 a month, AND we have a $6,000 per person deductible, with a family max of 12k out of pocket. It’s obscene.
@GetzlerChem @titania @SRLevine yes indeed. It's a really strange pattern there though coz other than that the people from the lowest to highest are through the bench actually really really nice, without bullying or other shitty social dynamicsStill hoping www.cymanticmedical.com/ will get a cash infusion after our two main investors jumped off suddenly last summer
@ProPublica I don’t care if they are prosecuted, I just want someone to look out first for the interests of the child: we are all caretakers of children’s rights until they are able to do so themselves, and the first of their rights - the one we must guard most zealously - is their right to life.
@dbattistella The US could also try and educate and train police officers better. In many states it takes just four months to become a police officer. In Denmark it's a three year professional bachelor's degree.
@tiotasram @christinkallama @bicmay I think they imagined that they both-sided it by focusing on factors like the lack of physical interaction with LLMs. I’m sure this is how many tech-averse MDs process the issue. But yeah it’s disappointing how out of touch it is with the actual debate over AI and its effectiveness.
@The_Whore_of_Blahbylon If parents unwisely choose to not vaccinate their child for preventable diseases, and their child gets the diseas and infects another child, who then dies, should they be prosecuted for the child's death?
For fucks sake. Is my asthma really getting worse right now? Srsly? These late period cramps and whatever's up with my knee are unreal. Had 300 mg aspirin recently, so I'd be very annoyed to have AERD or N-ERD.
So these retractions were triggered by an investigation by Ben Taubs of The New Yorker, who presents compelling evidence that the notion that breast milk can convey fatal doses of opiates to newborns to be the product of scientific fraud. The case he lays out is very compelling.
